The American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA), the American Association of Spinal Cord Injury Psychologists and Social Workers, American Association of Spinal Cord Injury Nurses, American Paraplegia Society and Therapy Leadership Council of Spinal Cord Injury are proud to announce that their 2009 annual scientific meetings will be combined into a single “Congress on Spinal Cord Medicine and Rehabilitation.” Scheduled for September 23-26, 2009, and supported by Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), the congress is expected to attract over 750 registrants to the Sheraton Dallas Hotel.
ASIA has a long history of excellent annual scientific meetings, and its partners: APS, AASCIN, AASCIPSW and TLC hold an equally enviable reputation for scientific programming under their respective banners. Michael Kennelly, M.D. (representing ASIA) and Indira Lanig, M.D. (representing the partnership associations) co-chair the combined program committee which is hard at work on the meeting agenda.
The goal of this congress is to bring “the best and the brightest” in the field of SCI medicine together under one roof to exchange ideas, network, and hear presentations from colleagues and international experts on the full spectrum of current and future issues facing spinal cord injury professionals. The benefit to all groups from a combined scientific meeting was embraced by the boards of each participating association with enthusiasm. Dallas is ideally situated for access by the majority of attendees, and the Sheraton Dallas Hotel is perfectly appointed for ease of access and comfort.
